| Siren Conservation Education is a UK registered charity (# 1083256) that is run by a team based in Oxford. The team comprises a board of trustees, project staff and an advisory panel of experts, all of whom are volunteers. We work independently and with individuals or organizations that have the expertise and experience necessary to ensure efficiency and maximization of our effectiveness. We have benefited from the input of many individuals (see below), whom we thank for their interest and generous assistance. |

Sasha Norris
Sasha is Siren's founder and creative director. A freelance science writer and presenter, Sasha moved into the profession of science communication while completing her DPhil (PhD) in the Department of Zoology at Oxford University. She is also a freelance writer and presenter: feature writer for RSPB Birds magazine, and Oxford Today (the University alumni magazine); and broadcast contributor (writing, consulting, presenting) for BBC TV, The Guardian, BBC Wildlife magazine, Discovery Channel. You can read Sasha's articles at www.sashanorris.co.uk Sasha maintains academic links within Oxford: she was Assistant Academic Editor on the new edition of 'The new Encyclopedia of Mammals', with David Macdonald of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU) in the Department of Zoology, Oxford University. She has taught Biology undergraduates at Oxford and worked as a researcher with Professor Norman Myers on identifying areas of global conservation importance (so-called "biodiversity hotspots").
Sasha has worked internationally, seen bears in Yosemite, spider monkeys in Amazonia, wolves in Yellowstone, sea otters in Monterey, and red deer and woodpeckers in Scotland. Her two dogs will not allow her to spend even a single day entirely indoors!

Nancy Gladstone
Nancy has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London, and several years practical conservation experience in Madagascar. She joined Siren in 2005 to research the PACE written resource pack, collating and editing technical information sheets on 80 different environmental problem-solving techniques. More recently she wrote and produced Siren's new Audio Tree Trail in the Chilterns. She is currently working with several schools in Oxfordshire to pilot the use of the PACE resources for global citizenship education in the UK. |

Becky Hay
Becky has worked professionally in the not for profit sector for over 10 years, as well as giving her time freely to a wide variety of welfare and human rights based causes. She is currently studying for an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management at the University of Greenwich and is a freelance research assistant. Brian Briggs
Brian is currently preparing his doctoral thesis on the conservation of wildfowl. Brian learnt Spanish to work on a Siren's project in Tarifa, Spain. Brian worked with Spanish organisation SEO to monitor the bird migration over Siren's reserve, produced a management plan for the land and a legal agreement with the Spanish grazier. Brian also produced the land management plan for Hinksey Heights Nature Reserve, one of Siren's partners in Oxford. Robin Bennett

Sean is one of the founding directors and shareholders of Oxford Scientific Films. From modest beginings in 1967, the company quickly became established worldwide for its innovating approach to wildlife film-making, and for its pioneering work in photographic special effects. Along with his colleagues in OSF, Sean became a world-renowned specialist wildlife cameraman, director and producer. His credits include several award-winning classics; Deathtrap; Sexual Encounters of the Floral Kind; The Forbidden Fruit, The Ghosts of Ruby; The Eagle and The Snake; Sonora, A Violent Eden (A Special for National Geographic which won Sean an Emmy for Cinematography) and many more. Sean has travelled extensively, keeps bees, rowed for Oxford in the Boat Race, is a World Championship winning veteran oarsman, and now works as a freelance producer and consultant, having left OSF in April 03. |

Rose Askew 2001 Rose conducted floral surveys of the Siren reserve in Tarifa, identified 81 species on the 25-acre reserve and concluded that reducing grazing is likely to result in an increase in species diversity. |
