RECIPE & APPLICATION

1. FLOUR

Aphids, mites, thrips, white fly

  • 2 cups white flour in 5l water. Stir and spray.

2. KEROSENE SOAP

Kill s all insects, use only when there is a serious problem

  • 1/2 cup soap powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon kerosene in 1 litre water.
  • Spray or boil 500 gr in water until dissolved.
  • Stir, churn for 5 min
  • Add 8 litres kerosene
  • Turns in jelly when cool
  • Dilute with water 1:10

3. MANURE

Aphids, caterpillars, cutworms, fruit fly, mites, stinkbugs, thrips, grass hoppers, mealy bugs, scale

  • 1 shovel dried cow manure in 10 litres water
  • leave for 14 days to ferment.
  • Stir frequently, filter, dilute 1:3 with water

4. MILK

Spider, mite, caterpillar, eggs, blights, mildew, virus tomato

  • 1 litre milk in 2lires
  • spray every 10 days

5. ASH

Aphids, cutworms, caterpillar

  • Mix ash with soapy water
  • Filter and spray

6. LIME/CLAY, DUST

Ants, aphids, beetles, cutworm, mites, thrips, white fly

  • Fine dust apply under site of leaves to cover eggs, forms crust

7. VEGETABLE OIL

Red spider, aphids, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, white fly

  • 1 litre + 100ml liquid soap + 15 litre water
  • Stir until cloudy emulsion obtained
  • Spray

8. URINE

Mealy bugs, thrips, mites, aphids, caterpillars on beans, cabbage, tomatoes etc

  • Use for protection; stand in container for 2 weeks exposed to sunlight.
  • Dilute with water
  • Spray for 2 weeks

9. RUBBER HEDGE

Termites, red spider, aphids, mosquitoes, fungi

  • Use 10 drops …+ 1 litre water
  • Stir until milky solution is obtained

11. RED PEPPER [CHILLI PEPPER]

Ants, aphids, cabbage worms, cut worms, diamond back moth flies, red spider, white flies, general insect

  • Dried ground red pepper sprinkled on dampened plants weekly.
  • Spread red pepper powder around base of plants
  • Place 1/2 cup crushed fresh red pepper or 1/4 cup dried pepper in 2 litres water
  • Let stand for 24 hours, filter and add soap spray.
  • 100 grams of 12 large pepper chops in 1 litre water for 24 hours. Filter, add 5 litres of soapy water.
  • Filter, add 2 litres water and spray

12. RED PEPPER, ONION, MARIGOLD

Red spider mite

  • Mix 4 red peppers, 4 onions, handful of marigold leaves.
  • All finely chopped, soak for 24 hours in soapy water.
  • Filter, add 2 litres water and spray.

13. FINGER MILLET UPHOKO

Caterpillars, cutworm, snails

  • Scatter stems + leaves as a mulch around plants to deter caterpillars, cutworms

14 OLEANDER

Ants, flies, beetles, diamond back moth

  • Crush leaves, bark, flowers soak for 30 mins in water, filter and spray

15. PAW PAW

Fungicide, powdery mildew

  • Mix 5 handfuls of finely, shredded leaves per 1 litre of water
  • Stir vigorously
  • Filter, dilute solution with soapy water, ratio 1:4 and spray

16. SYRINGA

Ants, aphids, army worms, maize ear worm red spider, fungi

  • Boil handful of leaves + berries in 5 litres water
  • Filter and spray

17. SWEET POTATO

Fungi, aphids, caterpillar, red spider

  • 5 Handful of leaves finely shredded per 1 litre water
  • Stir, filter, dilute 1:4
  • Use water left after cooking sweet potatoes and spray
